Carolie Parker is a visual artist and writer with a background in foreign languages and art history. She exhibits her sculpture and painting widely in Los Angeles. In the past couple years, her visual work has also appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, Sixth Finch and Caesura. She curates independently for artist-run spaces in Los Angeles, most recently Body Temp at 515 Bendix and Medium, an exhibition focusing on the relationship between language and visual image at FOCA. She was awarded a MacDowell Fellowship in poetry and was a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome. Her poetry has appeared in Sixth Finch, The Yale Review, Denver Quarterly and River Styx. She holds a BFA in studio art from UCI and an MA in comparative literature from UCLA (Latin American, US and French poetry
